Reissue of the 1731 edition with cancel title page and with privilege leaf inserted. "The printing of the text and translation was completed in 1719, before the publication of Wigan's edition, Oxford, 1723. The Greek text is based upon the first edition by Jacques Goupyl, Paris, 1554, with variant readings in the footnotes and on pp. 363-485 (i. e. 385). The Latin translation is by G. P. Grassi, with the additional 5 chapters in the last book from the Paris Latin edition of 1554. Wigan's preface (with bibliography of manuscripts and editions of Aretaeus, p. (1)-(6)) and his dissertations on Aretaeus, and Michael Maittaire's "De Aretaei dialecto commentariolus," "Alphabetum dialecticum" and "Index Graecus" are reprinted from the Oxford edition.
