Mark Ruffalo stars in this legal thriller directed by Todd Haynes. Robert Bilott (Ruffalo) is a corporate lawyer making his name and money by defending large chemical corporations. When he is visited by a farmer who tells Robert that his cows are being poisoned by chemical company DuPont, he at first does not take the farmer seriously. However, when he starts to investigate, Robert soon begins to realise that DuPont have knowingly poisoned the water supply for the last 40 years and have no plans to stop. Can a corporate lawyer turn the tables on the companies he has dedicated his career to defending?
