Summary

Fantasy about the power of generosity and love and how their disappearance leads to suffering in the community. The once beautiful town of Skalata in the valley has fallen on hard times. Fires, floods and other disasters lead to the loss of the library, the school, the park, and even good neighborly relations. People trust the mayor - a dizzying gentleman who promises that only he can help. After all, he is a famous dragon hunter. (Or at least no one has ever seen a dragon in his presence.) Only the smart kids at the orphanage and the kind goblin on the outskirts of town can see how deplorable the town's problems are. One day, however, one of the children disappears from the orphanage. The mayor directs everyone's eyes to the goblin. The orphans know it can't be her: the goblin, along with a flock of superb ravens, secretly delivers gifts to the people of the Rock in the hollow. But how are the orphans to tell the story of the goblin's goodness to people who refuse to hear them? And how could they get their deluded neighbors to see the real villain in their midst?.
