Accused of stealing from a drug smuggler, young Lucas 'Spikey' Fairbright escapes the West Country and hides in Tottenham, North London. Twenty-two years later, now settled, married to Mollie with two sons and working as an estate agent, his world is shattered by the reappearance of the smuggler, Steve Jerrish who recognises Lucas and demands pay-back by threatening his family.
