Membership
Membership of the library service is free to all residents of the Shire. You can join at any branch of the library by presenting proof of your name and current address. There is no minimum age for joining, but those under the age of 18 years require a signature from their parent or guardian.
Borrowing / Loans
Staff
- General collections can be borrowed for 28 days, with a maximum of 50 items
- The Audio Visual collection can be borrowed for 7 days, with a maximum of 20 items
- Other Equipment can be borrowed for 1 day only, with a maximum of 20 items
Students
- Resources can be borrowed for 28 days, with a maximum of 15 items
Associates
- General collections can be borrowed for 14 days, with a maximum of 15 items
Reciprocal
- General collections can be borrowed for 14 days, with a maximum of 5 items
Interlibrary Loans
- General collections can be borrowed for 28 days, with a maximum of 100 items
Returns
Please return items no later than the due date to the returns area at the entrance to the library. Please use the after hours chute when the library is closed.
Renewals
Items may be renewed twice, for a period of 28 days each time. Very overdue or reserved materials cannot be renewed. Ask at the loans desk or contact us by phone if you would like a staff member to renew your loans.
You can also renew items electronically using the My Account facility. You will need to login to use this facility.
Overdues
Reminder notices are sent if an item is overdue. Your borrowing rights will be automatically suspended if resources are not returned within 14 days after the due date. You will be invoiced for an item's replacement cost if it is lost or damaged whilst in your care.
Reservations
Reservations may be placed on items that are on loan and you will be notified when the item is ready for collection. The item awaiting collection will be held at the loans desk for seven days before being placed back in circulation. No charges are incurred when placing reservations.
Ask at the loans desk or contact us by phone if you would like a staff member to place a reservation on an item for you. You can also place reservations electronically using the Library Catalogue.
Bookings
Some bibliographic items, pieces of equipment and various rooms are available for bookings.
Staff
- Audio Visual Equipment can be booked for 1 day slots, up to a maximum of 5 adjacent days
- Materials can be booked for a day at a time, for up to 10 adjacent days
- Other Equipment can be borrowed for 1 hour slots, with a maximum of 24 adjacent slots
Students
- Materials can be booked for a day at a time, for up to 3 adjacent days
Debarral
If you have an item which is more than 14 days overdue, you will be automatically debarred from borrowing items or using library services until the overdue item is returned.
Interlibrary Loans
Items not held by the Library may be requested from a range of public and academic libraries. Charges may apply for some requests. Please use the online request form to place an interlibrary loan request. You will need to enter your borrower ID and password to use this service.
Suggest a Purchase
Items not held by the Library may be suggested for purchase. Please use the online request form to suggest an item for purchase. You will need to enter your borrower ID and password to use this service.
